Bike Packing - From the Arlberg via the Lechtal Nature Park and lake Plansee to Garmisch

2 Days of Bikepacking with Public Transport: Immersed in Nature with Cozy Comfort – Thanks to the Zenbivy Light Bed Double

Biker's Hack: The Zenbivy Light Bed Double compresses down to about 8 liters and can be easily mounted on your handlebars – for example, using the Osprey handlebar attachment.

Two days, two bikes, one goal: breathe and reconnect. This bikepacking route combines alpine mountain scenery with romantic river landscapes and crystal-clear lakes – the perfect gravel weekend with ultra-light gear. And thanks to the Zenbivy Light Bed Double, your night in the tent turns into a true getaway.

🚆 Getting There: A Relaxed Start by Train
Your trip begins in St. Anton or Langen am Arlberg – both easy to reach by train, bikes included. That means your tour starts sustainably and stress-free.

🏔️ Stage 1: From Arlberg into the Lech Valley
St. Anton/Langen – Flexen Pass – Lech – Warth – Elbigenalp – Häselgehr (Camping Rudi)
    🗺️ Approx. 75 km | ⛰️ Approx. 1,100 m elevation gain | 🚴 Moderate difficulty

The Lech Cycle Path – perfect for gravel bikes and for couples who like to ride in sync.
After the pass climb, enjoy the descent to Lech, then follow the Lech River through one of Central Europe’s last remaining wild river landscapes. Pebble beaches along the way invite you to pause and take it all in.

Day's goal: the idyllic Camping Rudi site in Häselgehr, right on the Lech – peaceful, surrounded by nature, and perfect for unwinding.

Zenbivy means: light gear, cozy nights – sharing a tent and the stars above.

🌲 Stage 2: Across Plansee to Garmisch
    Häselgehr – Klausenwald – Heiterwanger See – Plansee – Garmisch-Partenkirchen
    🗺️ Approx. 65 km | ⛰️ Approx. 900 m elevation gain | 🚴 Moderate to challenging

At Weissenbach, you leave the Lech Valley and climb gently through the quiet Klausenwald trail toward Heiterwang and the glass-clear lake Heiterwang.

The perfect spot to cool off and unwind: the east shore of Heiterwanger See with its hidden little bays.

Continue along the majestic Plansee – its mirror-like surface flanked by dense forests – before crossing into Bavaria via a remote forest road.

Soon you’ll reach Garmisch – with stunning views of the Zugspitze. The return journey is relaxed: take the train or hop on a Flixbus.

🛏️ Comfort Meets Adventure: The Zenbivy Light Bed Double
Bikepacking means packing light – but not cutting corners on sleep. With the Zenbivy Light Bed Double, you share more than just a tent:
